The entire SourceForge.net website was banned in mainland China around 2002,[5] though the ban was later lifted in 2003[citation needed]. Sourceforge.net has been blocked in China as of June 26, 2008[1].The current blocking may be related to the recent protests of Beijing Olympic Games, which will begin on 8 August 2008. This follows the China-boycott of the developer(s) of the (sourceforge hosted) FOSS software product Notepad++. The project's developer said that the action is not against Chinese people, but against Chinese government's repression against Tibetan unrest earlier in this year.[2]

大概在2002年，SourceForge.net 的整个网站被中国大陆禁止了，但是在2003年被解禁。2008年6月26日，SourceForge.net 再次被禁止。现在的这次禁止可能是与针对北京奥运的抗议活动有关，这次奥运会将在2008年8月8日开始。这些抵制活动是由(SourceForge主办的)自由和开放源码软件(FOSS)Notepad++ 发起的。该项目的开发者说，这次抵制活动并不针对中国人，而是针对中国政府在今年年初对西藏动乱的镇压。
